I was finally able to do some real “diet” shopping on the third day of my challenge and now I have no doubt in my mind that I will make it to the finish line!!! I went to Costco and bought bulk  veggies, fruits, and fish…I even got a little treat(100% salmon burger patties).  So needless to say….the anticipation of coming home to a plate of freshly grilled salmon, roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli made my evening hike with VFGs Cecily and Bernie that much more enjoyable…thanks Hubby!!!

Ummmm wow- I just knew one of you guys cheated. I have to confess—-I totally blew the challenge! I ate all the wrong things and I see the errors of my ways. I feel sluggish and thick around the middle which since I turned 36-has become my problem area. I got to take some drastic measures to combat my cravings for sweets, pastas, breads and meats. But I suppose if you have been doing something your entire life (eating meat and junk) it’s going to take more than a few days to change my ways. I know when it comes to working out=it takes 21 days to make anything a habit so with that said-I am going to give it another try. Just being so busy and on the road makes eating better SO much harder. But may be I need to go shopping with Kam and stock my fridge with nothing but what’s on the “acceptable list.” I totally messed up on this challenge. Yup-and I have to come clean. Guilty as charged…..

That’s because you were vacationing in “sin city”!!LOL
When you’re ready to have another go at it, i’ll be more then happy to shop with you and monitor your selections….and we’ll have to get Bernie to document it. I have a serious weakness for carbs , meats and sweets as well so it’s extremely hard to just quit them cold turkey. These diet challenges are genius because they’re helping me train my body and mind slowly but surely so that in some months I may be able to stick to a “strictly healthy diet” indefinitely. Until then i’m taking baby steps folks!!
